As an organisation we believe children are a gift from God; therefore we take our responsibilities towards their protection, and the protection of those who work and care for them, very seriously. To this end we fulfil all the required child protection legislation and search criteria, as well as holding our own Child Protection Policy which is held and monitored by Churches' Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS).
CCPAS “is the only independent Christian charity providing professional advice, disclosure checks (CRB/ISA/AccessNI), support, training and resources in all areas of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and for those affected by abuse throughout the UK.” (From CCPAS website: http://www.ccpas.co.uk )
We have two nominated child protection co-ordinators, one male and one female, who are available to both children and childcare workers. Our aim is to provide a safe environment which is open to all, without discrimination.
